The stock filter replacement is the simplest, least expensive way to get more performance.

FIPK/GENERATION II- K&N quickly realized fuel-injected vehicles had severe air flow restrictions. Correcting this with the FIPK filter system yields the best improvement for filtered raw air. The R/D department at K&N developed mounting and plenum (air delivery plumbing) designs to maximize air flow.. By now you've seen the "hot" bent metal plumbing with a big cone type filter on the intake end mated to the factory EFI intake plate. While showing big improvements over stock designs, these air delivery systems fail to completely shape the air velocity and deliver cool air. Making further refinements to the FIPK series, K&N blow-molded plenums- to maximize air velocity and created filter shielding/mounts- to cool the air intake. K&N's efforts yield the maximize potential cool air intake and labeled this development Generation II. No bright colors, just unrestricted performance.

Typical GENERATION II- Replaces the entire air intake tract which may or may not include a heat shield.

K&N FILTER CARE- Your K&N comes pre-oiled. Having a Filter Charger Cleaning Kit at home when you want to clean the filters is important to insure the correct chemicals contact your filter.
